Frequently Asked Questions
Why take lessons in the performing arts?
Acting and singing provide a fantastic outlet for creativity and allow you to develop a wide range of transferable skills beyond the stage! Confidence, communication and enhanced expression are valuable life skills that can help with academic achievement and gaining employment in a variety of sectors.
Who should have lessons in the performing arts?
Anyone who wants to learn! I take students from age 4 right through to adults and complete beginners through to advanced level learners. It’s never too soon or too late to start learning!
How often will lessons take place?
Lessons must be booked in blocks and will be invoiced half-termly in advance. This guarantees your time slot will be reserved for you. Lessons will take place weekly during term time with breaks for half terms and school holidays. Please refer to the list of term dates for further details.
Why take LAMDA exams?
LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) exams are Ofqual recognised and regulated. Grades 6 and above carry UCAS points and can be a great way to enhance university or drama school applications. They allow learners to develop confidence and communication skills as well as working on their technique and subject knowledge. Whilst many people enjoy taking lessons just for fun and personal development, the satisfaction of gaining exam certificates can be extremely rewarding too.
How much do individual lessons cost?
Lessons for 1:1 students cost £16.50 per half hour or £30 for one hour. For younger students, half an hour is sufficient but students taking higher grades, multiple subjects or preparing for drama school auditions may find that a longer session is advisable.
How much are lessons for schools?
Rates vary depending on the project required. Please enquire for details.
